The workshop will introduce a number of postures that students can do at home to relax and renew. Learn to use blankets, bolsters, props or even furniture at home to set up for each pose. 15 mins in a restorative yoga pose = 2 hours of sleep.
What
Restorative yoga is a therapeutic style of yoga which helps you relax, renew, restore, refresh, release and rejuvenate.
Why
It provides healing for the body and the mind. It helps eliminate fatigue and stress that result from your daily activities. It can also help you recover from illness and injury or overcome emotional depression and anxiety. Regular practice of restorative yoga will make your body less vulnerable to stress-related illnesses and help you achieve optimal health.
How
Restorative yoga uses blankets, bolsters, straps and other props to safely support the body in various restorative postures. You will hold it for an extended period, often more than a few minutes, to reach a state of balance. Restorative yoga is very relaxing and is a good complement to the more active asana practices.
Who
You need Restorative yoga if you:
- Feel exhausted in the body & mind
- Have poor sleep quality
- Suffer from chronic illness or recurring injury
- Have menstrual pain
- Have menopausal issues
